SLU hosts 7th Annual Career Boot Camp for Sophomores

In January, the seventh annual Career Boot Camp for sophomores featured many tried and true Laurentian networking activities and industry panels, as well as nine new programs which allowed students to select three that were most valuable/targeted to their current needs.  For the first time, this included academic planning, study abroad application guidance, grant-writing, excel skills, grad school planning, networking/professional communication in the workplace, career exploration, and diversity/inclusion in the workplace.

“The Sophomore Career Boot Camp is an all-hands on deck effort,” according to Geoff Falen, director of Career Connections at St. Lawrence.  “In addition to the full efforts of Career Connections and Career Services, folks from almost every office across campus all contribute to the success of the event in terms of transportation, housing, publicity, and program facilitation.”  According to Falen, the Alumni Executive Committee has also contributed in recent years, both in participation and through financial support.  Learn more about Career Connections at St. Lawrence by visiting stlawu.edu/career-connections
